The café was quaint, quiet and out of the way. It had been ages since you'd last visited the Human Realm. The soft sounds of chatter and cutlery clinking created a calm atmosphere. Well calm for the most part.
Michael sat on the chair opposite to yours looking quite frazzled. His white button down rolled up to just above the elbows and a few of the topmost buttons undone. His long golden curls done up in a messy plait, nonconforming strands coiling around his unusually antsy face. Long dexterous fingers wrap around his coffee mug, he brings it to his lips and takes a sip before setting it down with a little too much force. You watch the scene amusedly.
“I just- I don’t know what to do!” he runs a hand through his hair, looking up at you with stressed, ruby red eyes. "I mean?- Is it too late to give my congratulations?!...Or a push present?!"
You bite your tongue to keep from laughing, the Archangel notices. "This is serious MC! I am the worst uncle ever!"
You tilt your head, "Did you not think it was strange when the brothers first fell that Satan just kind of poofed into existence?"
Michael gives a thoughtful look, before making a 'meh' face and shrugging his shoulders. "I kind of just thought Satan was a low ranking angel that fell with the actual memorable ones, and that I had just... never cared to learn his name before he fell."
"You didn't ask?" You take a sip of your warm drink, revelling in how satisfying the hot liquid felt when it hit the back of your throat and warmed you up from the inside, especially as it was fucking baltic outside.
"Yes." Michael smiles sarcastically, "Because taking a trip down to the Devildom straight after the Celestial War to ask about the demon who kept biting people and snarling would've gone great for me."
"Touché." You grin. Michael's expression falls back from sarcastic to strained, his gorgeous features bathed in stress.
"But seriously MC! I've missed out on centuries as an uncle! That's so many birthdays! Luke must think I'm a deadbeat! I already act like I'm a divorced dad with visitation rights because I can't visit very often!"
You snort. "I don't think Luke knows."
Michael sinks into his seat, "Oh thank Father."
He stays there for a moment, the soft golden glow of the café lights on his dark skin so similar to the aureate ambiance of the Celestial Realm that you almost forget that you're back in the human world. He flutters his eyes closed, a hand over his brow in what can only be described as a himbo-ified imitation of a sickly Victorian woman saying something along the lines of 'Woe is I!" after finding out poor people actually have feelings. What a fucking drama king. You hold back a snort. Michael groans before swinging back up like a jack-in-the-box, his usual cheerful yet cheeky smile on his handsome face, he joins his hands together as he rests his arms on the wooden table, as if completely oblivious to the complete 180 he had turned. "So! MC, have I ever told you about the time Lucifer ran into a glass door in the Celestial Realm?"
You shake your head, grinning mischieviously, "I don't think you have!"
Hours Later, down in the Devildom, in RAD's royal library, Satan sneezed. He paused for a moment more before folding his handkerchief up and putting it back in his pocket, making a mental note to wash it when he got back to the House of Lamentation.
He groans, arching his back and stretching his arms out in an attempt to weave out any knots in his muscles. He'd been in the library since school had ended. Still unable to shake the feeling something was going to happen, Satan got up off of his chair, packed his books away, and made the journey home.
Walking alone through the cobbled streets of the Realm was calming and peaceful. Halfway through his siúl suaimneach, he comes face to face with a gathering of the stray cats he'd normally feed.
The Avatar of Wrath coos at them, hunkering down and reaching into his bag for some of the cat treats he'd normally kept in there. "Aww..." He mutters, speaking in a baby voice to the cats, scratching an old tabby's fur. "You've gotten so big, Purrsephone!" He scritches underneath the young cats chin, smiling as she purrs and remembering fondly when the cat was just a small kitten trailing behind her mother like a second, small adorable shadow.
As he pulls out the bag of treats onehanded, the symphony of meowing reaches a polyphonic crescendo, cats and kittens of all shapes, colours and sizes scramble towards Satan with more purpose now, all meowing for food. He chuckles, indulging the felines, petting them as they nibble and chew on the kitty treats.
Unbeknownst to the Avatar of Wrath, a good quarter of a mile away from where he congregated with the cats, a certain Archangel and his accomplice stood hiding in an alleyway.
In the shadows of the alleyway, Michael was clumsily putting on his batman mask. He already had a matching batman suit and cape on, you however were much more serious, and were dressed up as Robin.
"Michael." You hiss exasperatedly. "You seriously can't think that sneaking up on the Avatar of Wrath is a good idea!"
Michael merely waved you off with one hand, his other carrying his 'surprise for his most favouritest nephew in the three realms' as he'd deemed it. "Besides MC is worst comes to worst, you can just pop out!"
You nod. "Good point. "You face breaks into a grin matching Michael's, "This is going to be fun to watch."
Michael goes to say something before you both hear footsteps, your eyes widen. "Oh shit...he's coming..."
Quickly you dart behind the dumpsters, Michael moves to the wall of the alleyway. Holding his breath as he listens to the footsteps of a certain green-eyed demon.
After having petted the cats, Satan got up and begrudgingly left them in order to continue his journey home.
Lost in his thoughts, he can't help but feel as if something is watching him, thinking its just his imagination, he walks on. Who would be stupid enough to sneak up on the Avatar of Wrath?
An idiot in a batman costume apparently.
Satan jumped as the lunatic hopped out from the alleyway, hands behind his back.
"Psst! Kid!" The stranger in the batman costume says, ruby red eyes that reminded him of Lucifer staring at him. "I have a surprise for you!"
Satan's tail whips around his legs, on the defensive. "I'm not a kid." He says coldly. "And what surprise?"
"Heeheehee." The strange man giggles, before taking his hands away from where they were behind his back and revealling a small tiny little kitten, fur as dark as night, with an emerald green bow wrapped loosely around its little neck, having been jostled, the tiny creature meows in protest, big green eyes blinking sleepily. Satan's harsh, mistrusting glare softens as he looks at the kitten, moving to take it out of the strangers hands before his eyes narrow.
"What's the catch?"
"The catch?" 'Batman' says indignantly, as if Satan had gravely offended him. "The catch? How dare you! There is no catch! Can't an uncle give his nephew a present to make up for millennia upon millennia of missed birthdays?!"
Satan blinks. "It's March. It's nowhere near my birthday. And Uncle?" Green eyes narrow again. "I don't have any uncles."
The stranger sticks his tongue out. "Blah blah blah. You are just like your father. Take the fucking cat or I'm telling everyone that you're secretly Lucifer's son."
A vein pops on Satan's head. "Excuse me?!"
The stranger chuckles nervously upon sensing Satan's wrath bubble like magma beneath the surface of his skin, ready to boil over and erupt. When Satan's eyes flashed dangerously the stranger spluttered out. "Oh shit....! Uhhh....Cat Attack!!!" That was the only warning Satan got before the tiny kitten was shoved gently but firmly into his hands, his eyes immedietely softened, the rage slowed down from a boil as he looked into the soft innocent eyes of the kittykat.
He looked up at the stranger, who in his frenzy, had lost his batman mask. Ruby red eyes and golden curls tied in french plaits and tucked into the rest of the suit greeted him. Unholy fuck. Was that Archangel Michael.
The Archangel grins at him, "Enjoy your gift! Tell Lucikins I said hi! Oh and also the cats a girl, you can name her! Come visit your favourite uncle soon! Byebye!" Michael shouts to him, before he turns around, and fucking books it, sprinting away from the Avatar of Wrath at a speed that could rival Mammon running from Lucifer.
Satan stood shellshocked by the whole ordeal having acquired a tiny kitten and an uncle who needed to be institutionalised.
He grinned down at the kitten, "I'm gonna call you Dorcha."
Judging by the small creatures tiny meow, he'd gamble that she liked that name.
A/N: im so sorry this is so short, ive been busy w irl stuff, but this was a fun ask <3
also dorcha is sort of pronounced 'door-ah-ha' but you sort of say the 'ch' with your throat, idk how to explain it, but it means 'dark' 💗💗
siúl suaimhneach (shoe-el soo-ehve-neyak, except dont pronounce the 'ch' as a 'keh' and pronounce it liek gutturally!!!) it means 'peaceful walk' but suaimhneach can also mean tranquil or quiet

My latest DC Comic read is Batman: Fear State Saga.
I picked this one up because Jonathan Crane is the main antagonist and I love the awful little man. I wanted to see how the comics portrayed him.
I can’t say this is good comic, but I enjoyed it. The only apologies I can make for the length is that I enjoy characters that are awful people and this comic is filled with them.
Comic
Title: Batman: Fear State Saga
Author: James Tynion IV
Artist: Jorge Jimenez
Year: 2021
Overall Opinion
An interesting premise that falls flat but nonetheless has very interesting character moments.
The plot in general suffers because it doesn’t challenge Batman. For him, this is just another night of dealing with Gotham’s bullshit. That’s a valid angle in is own right, but the narrative plays out as dramatic moments that don’t land. You can’t have a grand success if you never feared defeat.
There are, however, fantastic character interactions. Any page Jonathan’s on is generally a good page. I also enjoyed Sean and Simon, but I suspect those are more controversial.
The Peacekeeper-01 and Miracle Molly shorts are also very good, probably because they’re introspective rather than grand plots. Characters seem to be Tynion’s strong point.
Art
In general the art work is fantastic. No complaints there.
There is a puzzling portion of Batman #115 where the art style notably changes. I think it might be because the focus is on Molly, but if so it didn’t work. It had me flipping pages forward and back to figure out what was going on.
On the other hand, I really enjoy how in the Miracle Molly short the art style for Mary’s life differs greatly from Molly’s. Good use of the medium to emphasize the storytelling.
General
Main Story
-I love the prominence of women through this story.
Most of the other DC comics I’ve read so far have only had one or two prominent women, typically in background supporting roles.
So having multiple women in this story, interacting with each other, is very refreshing. I hope more current comics follow this trend.
-“I believe in the new Gotham City” is a catchphrase throughout that strongly reminds me of “I believe in Harvey Dent”.
And just like the Harvey, the new Gotham City is doomed to failure because of the faults inherent in its foundations.
Gotham needs to avoid any movement where the motto starts with “I believe”.
-Bat symbols replace swear words. While cute, it’s also silly. This is the 21st century; just put the damn swear words in.
-The FBI acquires Jervis’ tech when he’s comprehended.
This feels vaguely likely a conflict of interest. It certainly gives the FBI a good reason to want Jervis to break out.
-Arkham is outright called prison. So much for a mental hospital...
Montoya: “He was a prison guard in the most corruptprison complex on the east coast! The word ‘Arkham’ is shorthand for ‘poorly run prison’!”
-The term “bat-family” doesn’t seem right in universe. It works as a meta term, but I don’t see the characters – especially not the members themselves – referring to the bats as that.
At best I’d prefer a term like “bat clan”.
-I also feel they were poorly used.
There are numerous group of the bat family and they’re frequently referenced throughout the story.
However, we see them actually doing very little. They don’t even get proper introductions. So having dramatic shots where everyone is present doesn’t feel earned. Why should we care about them in the context of this story?
They should have gone all in with giving the bat family roles or cut them out.
-Batman gets a few speeches that feel out of place.
There’s the one where he and Molly talk on the way to the Unsanity Collective base about how Batman feels and the one at the end with Jonathan about change.
I like the concepts! However, they feel “high level”, rather than personal. It’s how I would expect someone to describe a story rather than their life.
I’ll certainly take this over an emotionally constipated Batman, but I think they could have used a rewrite to make them more natural.
-Why is Jervis barefoot in Arkham? Why is everyone ALWAYS barefoot in Arkham?
-The Unsanity Collective feel odd in this story.
They wipe away traumatic memories so people can become their best selves. That on its own is debatable – there’s an argument to be made that your memories make you who you are.
And Batman does challenge Molly on this when she tries to use the bomb to force it on everyone! He manages to talk her out of it because people can improve even with traumatic memories.
But he also allowed the Unsanity Collective to operate freely before the story and continues to do so after. He doesn’t consider them a threat to the city.
If Batman fundamentally agrees with the Unseen Collective I can maybe see him permitting to operate on the principle that people can choose their own paths, but I’d expect more tension with them than we see. It just seems out of place that Batman allows them to operate so freely when they’re mind wiping people. That can be so easily abused.
Shorts
-The Peacekeeper-01 comic doesn’t quite fit between Fear State #1 and #2.
#1 ends with Sean freaking out and #2 picks up directly from there. The Peacekeeper-01 comic ends with Sean peacefully walking away from his father’s pub.
-The Peacekeeper story does an excellent job of showing how deeply rooted corruption is in Gotham.
Sean watches his cop father beat to death another cop to prevent him from supporting the DA in taking down the (corrupt) commissioner.
Later they go out for treats and his father explains how controlling evil to keep it manageable is a good and honorable thing.
Fighting against corruption so ingrained into society is an uphill battle.
-The Miracle Molly comic hits hard for how mundane it is.
The antagonist is real life – a spouse you’ve disconnected from, in-laws you don’t get along with, an unfulfilling job…
There’s no one thing that pushes Mary over the edge. It’s just the unforgiving daily grind. And I think nearly every adult can sympathize with that.
-It’s a strange choice to put Poison Ivy’s origin story in Gardener’s comic.
I’m curious if this is the first telling of it in current continuity, or if it conflicts with an existing telling.
Plot
-Simon Saint on Crane’s work: “It’s difficult to imagine creating a society trained to expect trauma – whose fear has become so ingrained and irrational that your theory could tip them over.”
Yeah, that’s Gotham. I’d call that Gotham on an average day, really. You don’t need to set this after the Joker war.
-“A-Day” – The gas attack on Arkham that Jonathan used to break out – is frustratingly vague.
It’s blamed on the Joker, but Jonathan uses it to fake his death. Given Jonathan told Simon that his absence from Arkham would need to be hid from Batman to prevent his interference, it’s not unreasonable to assume Simon was involved.
So did Simon do A-Day? Or did Jonathan take advantage of Joker’s attack?
If Simon performed A-Day and used Joker as the fall man, I doubt Joker is pleased. You’d think he have something to say about it. But he never shows up in the story.
And is Arkham gone? If so, will it be rebuilt?
It’s implied at the very end that Arkham was destroyed in the attack, but it’s never made explicit.
-There is something very funny to me that Simon’s solution to masked vigilantes is licensed superheroes.
Obviously the police can’t handle Gotham’s costumed criminals. Some kind of superhero is necessary. It’s just a matter of who they report to.
(Has Gotham forgotten that SWAT exists?)
-Taking over Oracle’s broadcast is a nice escalation of the plot. It shows old tricks aren’t the solution to this problem and that the villain is capable enough to beat the bats’ tech expert.
However, it’s never made clear who took over Oracle’s broadcast.
I initially presumed Simon, but given how badly he falls apart I don’t think it was him. Also, there’s some evil laughter in one of the later broadcasts that isn’t really Simon’s style.
That leaves Scarecrow. It fits his MO of spreading fear but I’m skeptical he has the technical finesse to pull it off.
This point is just.. dropped about halfway through. You’d think Oracle’s tech operations being compromised would be a major plot point throughout, but apparently not. There’s not even any resolution on if its fixed.
-Simon’s positioning of the peacekeepers to the public is clever.
He acknowledges Batman’s achievements – he took on the mob and much of the city’s corruption.
However, with his rise came the rise of costumed crime and he wasn’t enough to handle that. Hence the need for the peacekeepers.
(Again, is there a reason Gotham can’t implement a SWAT team? In some continuities they’ve had one.)
-The program's barely started and Simon's already creating a secret Peacekeeper. That's not promising.
-Batman gives Montoya a run down of the entire plot.
This would be more impressive if the story showed how he knew any of it. How does he know the Magistrate planted the bomb? Or that Peacekeeper-01 is dosed on fear toxin?
-You’d think Montoya’s line here is foreshadowing, but it’s not: “The people need to believe in something – all together. It’s the only way to break them out of this…”
Waste of a very good story hook. That would have been a great resolution to the story – inspiring people to overcome their fear by giving them something stronger to believe in. It’s always been a theme in Batman stories that he’s meant to inspire hope.
-Bruce is furious at Simon for giving Scarecrow power. Interestingly, if not for that he could have seen a future for them in Gotham.
Batman fighting magistrate robots: “There is no future for the magistrate in Gotham city. There might have been if you hadn’t been so careless.
“You gave one of the most dangerous minds this city has ever seen more power than he’s ever had before.
“This city is Scarecrow’s laboratory now. We’re all his test subjects.
“Are you listening, Saint?!
“I will make sure that this city knows whose fault that is…
...Even if it kills me.”
I wish this was followed up on more. What place could Batman see for the magistrate in Gotham? Did he welcome the additional support but oppose the execution?
-In Bruce’s mind, he sees himself as Batman.
Minhkhoa, however, sees himself in a suit – but still wearing the mask.
-The Unsanity Collective built a machine that absorbs trauma and didn’t expect Scarecrow to attempt to steal it?
They might actually be insane.
-Sean I know you’re being mind controlled but please don’t let the mad scientist experiment on you just because he called you a hero.
-The Unsanity Collective being vulnerable to Scarecrow because both of their mind tech is built off of Jervis’ work is well done. Both of those facts are established well before the reveal.
Also, as much as Jonathan wanted credit at the start of this story for his work I feel Jervis should also be submitting a claim. Everyone is using his work. Man could be rich if he got royalties.
-Jonathan shows off his plan to Batman, then promptly throws a hissy fit when Batman attempts to interfere. Jonathan, how did you expect that to go?
-Sean shooting Jonathan is rather funny. And then casually saying he’ll kill Simon, take his position, and possibly keep Jonathan around if he survives.
Everyone wants Jonathan and no one wants to actually deal with him.
Understandable.
-The resolution with Simon is very abrupt. The bat family just show up on his ship and say he’s being arrested.
Given how major a player he’s been in the story, I think this should have been fleshed out more.
-Poison Ivy is very calm about reuniting with herself.
That feels very convenient and because the plot demanded in it. Why would “Queen Ivy” whose all cynicism want to reunite with innocent Poison Ivy?
-Batman is wrong about Sean in their final fight: “Heroes save other people. You’ve only ever wanted to save yourself.”
Sean literally lost an arm and a leg saving two nurses during A-Day. He’s a shitty person, but I do think he genuinely wants to do good. He’s just… Had extremely poor guidance on what good is and is only starting to realize that.
He went from his corrupt cop father for guidance to Silicone Valley tech bro Simon to the Scarecrow. Jonathan is not qualified to mentor anyone in ethics.
It’s an odd thing for Batman to say, as this story pushes the narrative that people can change and choose to do better. Ghost-Maker is a primary supporting character. Sean has already shown willingness to sacrifice himself for others and Batman dismisses him outright.
-It’s a solid twist that Molly wants to set off the bomb as an Unsanity bomb.
The resolution, however, falls flat for me. Batman gives Molly his communicator so she can hear all the positive press about the night wrapping up. This is supposed to be touching but I don’t feel it.
I think it’s because of Batman’s lack of inner turmoil. This has been a long night, but it hasn’t challenged him internally. He still holds the same beliefs at the end of the night that he does at the start; it’s just been a longer night than usual of putting down crime for him.
To make it work Batman would also need to be swayed by the positive news. Perhaps Molly could have spent the night trying to sway Batman to the Unsanity Collective’s vision. He debates her, but is visibly wavering. When she tries to set off the bomb she tells him she knows he sees her vision; he shakes his head and puts the communicator on speaker. They listen to it together and Molly dismantles the bomb.
Batman’s the viewpoint character, so he should experience some growth during the story. Molly’s a good vehicle to do it and the bomb’s a fantastic opportunity. The writing just didn’t take advantage of it.
-Batman WOULD NOT take off his cowl in public. I’ll assume Molly knows his true identity, but Jonathan and Sean are RIGHT THERE and they do not.
-Jonathan agrees to behave when Batman takes him to the asylum so they can speak on the way over. Rather sweet. The Rogues want their bonding time, damn it.
Even more touching is Batman giving Jonathan a mask when he asked. I suppose Batman understands the importance of them.
I would love to hear the therapists opinion on it.
-How the fuck can Molly do time for other members of the Unsanity Collective? Does Gotham even pretend to follow the rest of US law?
-I’m glad Poison Ivy calls Garten out on creating a seed of her. That was an extremely creepy violation of her autonomy.
-Batman says Jonathan hasn’t evolved, but that isn’t true.
Jonathan normally uses fear toxin. He doesn’t use any for this entire story; he uses tech Jervis developed that Jonathan adapted for his own purposes.
I appreciate that Batman is trying to encourage Jonathan to move past his obsession with fear or at least redirect it, but he can do that while acknowledging what Jonathan has already accomplished.
Characters
Jeremiah Arkham
-Simon bribed Jeremiah for private conversation with Jonathan. Huh. Disappointing.
Ethics aside, you’d think Jeremiah would know this would end terribly. No ‘private conversation’ with a Rogue can have a happy ending for Gotham.
-According to Jonathan, Jeremiah is also always listening.
Given Jeremiah runs Arkham Asylum, that’s just practical.
-Credit to Jeremiah: He put Sean on probation for beating the shit out of Jervis.
Strike against Jeremiah: He should have fired Sean on the spot.
-So is Jeremiah dead or not? It’s never stated if he died during A-Day.
Jonathan Crane
-Jonathan thinks Jervis is smart! “He is a strange man. Childish, but roughly six times smarter than any of the usual costumed coterie in Gotham.”
-To create a fear state Jonathan will require “a good deal of burlap, straw, and rope.” Lol. Obviously Jonathan will be doing his lab work in costume, who doesn’t?
-Jonathan wants credit for his work. He’s sick of others using his research and taking the credit.
I wish more had been done with this. Given it’s the intro for the saga, you’d think it be a theme throughout. Maybe what drives Jonathan to turn against Simon, or at least referenced again at the end. But no, this is the only mention.
-Jonathan never sits in the conversation with Simon. He stands, walks around, crouches, leans over the table, but never sits.
It’s probably just artistic choice, but I read it as never viewing Simon as an equal. Sitting would imply this is a business conversation between two men of the same statute and Jonathan never considers Simon on par with him.
-I love that Jonathan has different speech bubbles when he’s the Scarecrow. That’s some extreme compartmentalization.
-Jonathan’s foremost priority is science, but if it incidentally causes some good he’s not opposed. It’s just not a priority.
Scarecrow on putting Gotham into a fear state: “But I hope on some level you recognize the truth. That what comes next is me at my most altruistic. That’s not why I’m doing it, of course. I’m doing out of scientific curiosity. But I sincerely believe Gotham will be better on the other side.”
-I’m cackling. Even before he goes Scarecrow, the papers are already refusing to publish Jonathan’s papers on fear.
-Jonathan’s speech to Minhkhoa is quite passionate. He also looks like a dork during it.
I want to see this man in an anime. You’d know he’d have the time of his life going over the top anime style.
-Of course Jonathan likes to refer to a straw man of abstract fear as a scarecrow.
-Jonathan may actually believe what he tells Sean: “I’m not a bad guy. I’m a doctor. It’s the city that’s bad. And I have the cure.”
Sean: “What’s the cure…?
Jonathan: “You are, my boy. You are.”
I think Jonathan may be genuinely fond of Sean. Not as a person, per se, but as a successful experiment.
If nothing else, I’m sure he’ll cackle with glee and second hand pride when he watches Sean give Batman hell in the future.
-Jonathan enjoys his games with Batman. All the Rogues do.
Jonathan: “I’ll admit, I forgot how fun this is. Keeping you outfoxed… I try to stay above the fray when I talk to my Arkham compatriots… But I can’t lie. It’s a fun game.”
-Jonathan bounces right back after failures. A true scientist – he just found one more way to not achieve his goal.
Jonathan as he’s transported to an asylum: “No. The fear was always there. I was just trying to do something productive with it. Next time I’ll do a better job.”
-Of course he tested his fear bomb on the handlers Sean assigned him because he’s a ‘responsible scientist’.
Jonathan, you awful little gremlin of a man.
Sean Mahoney
-I’m probably one of a handful of people that genuinely like Sean. Even the narrative seems to expect you to dislike him.
He’s objectively awful at the start– he defends his father’s corruption and he beats the shit out of Jervis when he’s an Arkham guard.
However, he does save the two nurses during A-Day. And he says throughout that he wants to save Gotham.
For most of the story Sean is malleable. He follows his father, then Simon, then Jonathan. He slowly becomes disillusioned with each,
It’s not until the end that he really comes into his own and starts to define himself. (Was he ever deprogrammed from Scarecrow’s influence?)
I think there’s potential there. Most likely as a villain, but I could see him as a hero with some work. Well, a lot of work.
-Sean: “I’ll show them. I deserve this! I paid my dues! This city owes me!”
Even on fear toxin, that’s a worrying level of entitlement. Maybe especially on fear toxin. Sean’s deepest fear… is not getting what he thinks he’s owed?
Simon Saint
-Simon is awful. It’s like he objectively knows what the right thing is, but can’t bring himself to follow through on it.
Simon: “We must have compassion for Sean, because he’s a young man being manipulated by a monster. We are a force for good in Gotham city. We want to save him, because we want to save everyone, and bring order to this city. But should that not be possible…
“The Peacekeeper-X armor’s adaptive nanotechnology cost 500 million dollars more than what Peacekeeper-01 is working with. Your weapons will tear through Sean’s armor like it’s tissue paper. And if this goes south, that is precisely what I expect you to do.”
-Simon is crying as he orders the Peacekeeper-X armor destroyed, but does it anyway.
Then he tries to delude himself Ricardo might be alive.
Does this man have any experience with combat?
-Simon does not handle stress well.
Simon after Ricardo’s death: “Gotham city is insane. It is filled with dangerous criminals, and they all should be destroyed. This city should be wiped off the face of the Earth!”
Simon as Sean and Batman fight: “I don’t understand. I spent so much money. Why isn’t this working?!”
Misc
-I can see why Ghost-Maker is so popular. He’s quite funny and plays off Batman well.
-Shout out to Montoya for being sensible. She knows how dangerous Jonathan is with his words and wanted him gagged.
-Garten doesn’t do much, but I enjoyed her. She’s another character that’s well aware of how she’s viewed and accepts her.
I do not, however, trust her. That business with Poison Ivy was not aboveboard.

Touya was never the one to seek physical affection. He hated to be touched, to touch people was okay, but not when they did it back. He was confused as to why some women liked him, truly, but he didn't mention it.
Lately this one woman, who has been part of his everyday schedule was way too irresistible. She always wore lip gloss, pink color. He could taste the strawberries on his tongue. Her hair was blondish to brown, very silk. It was clear she took care of herself, judging by how perfectly her body proportions were.
Her tights, they were big, just how he would like it. When she stood up they would lightly move as her butt swayed side to side. She had the perfect cat walk, and her posture was the most amazing thing on her. The way her arms, were not thin, but not and fat. She was perfect, tick and so very beautiful.
The tattoo on her chest always made an excuse for him to take a look of her breasts. She had noticed him, as every woman would and called him a creep but he didn't care. It made her even more attractive.
One day, everyone were off with their day. Touya, was ready to go on with his day per usual, but what caught his eyes, was the fact she has not moved an inch from the shared bar, sitting, her legs crossed over one another, as she chewed a gum, creating a bubble from time to time.
"Got nothing to do?" he asked her, making the girl turn to him. All this time she has seen him as a very...unsane person. He wasn't a man who should be trusted and she knew it. To answer his question was a very easy task, yet she took it under big thinking
"Not really, what about you burned guy? Got any other sages to throw out?" She asked right back shutting off her phone turning her attention right on him. Her words should have made him to snap at her, comment worse on her own appearance but he didn't.
"Very funny. But no, I really don't have anything to do" It was a lie. Lying through his teeth, Touya seated himself beside her. She only raised her eye brow, before letting out a scoff
"Yeah sure, and I am Santa Claus" she mumbled annoyed, before opening her phone again. By the lack of attention, Touya frowned, his eye brows scrunching up as he just narrowed his eyes at her.
"You look like him" he let the words slip from his lips. Her eyes shot to him and she put down her phone.
"What did you say to me, burned chicken? Did you breathe more marijuana then usual?" She snapped at him, her words sharp. She meant them, and it was not going to be a surprise for Touya to get offended. But he didn't instead he leaned on to his palm and looked at her in somekind love stuck stare
"I love it when you insult people. You look so sexy" he said simply, a small grin on his face. That left her stunned as she stood still for a moment debating as to where to turn this conversation to.
"Sexy? Are you hearing yourself?" She asked in disbelief. He only chuckled and moved closer to her, making the woman in front of him to take a little turn back. He only clicked his tongue and got off the chair, spinning her own, so that she could face him
"Listen, sugar. I have been craving you. For your body, for your personality, for you. I want you, to get with me, back to my room, and scream my name. Screw the relationship beforehand, I want you" He spoke his voice serious, yet filled with mischief.
She stood stunned her words caught in her throat as she didn't know how to react. He only hummed and held her waist as he pulled her over his shoulder. Putting his hand on the end of her butt he patted it lightly, feeling her wiggle
"Let me go! I never agreed!"
"You didn't disagree" he shot back and carried her off to his room. "Let me show you a good time, sugar"
"Fuck you!"
"In a minute"
𝜗𝜚! lover girl xoxo

gonst turned dc follower here, would love to hear your thoughts about bat jokes ❤️
BATJOKES UNDER THE READ MORE
As Im sure everyone knows, theres a toooon of different timelines and universes and Batman iterations out there.
My favorites personally are:
🤡 The Killing Joke
🦇 Batman: The Animated Series
🤡 Lego Batman
🦇 The Batman 2022
🤡 Batman: The Dark Prince Charming
I grew up watching A LOT of super hero cartoons, some older like 1960s Spider-man and some newer like BTAS. Batman the Animated Series was definitely my all time favorite and still is to this day. Cant help being born in the ninties. Its a heavy cross to bare
I just think that there are some universal truths I like to have across all my batjokes, no matter what universe or situation theyre in. I want them UNSANE, UNSAFE, and WEIRDLY CONSENTUAL.
To me they are two guys who never should have crossed paths, but tragedy after tragedy in their own lives led them to the same place on the wrong night and ever since, they've been attached by the same fucked up red string of fate. Joker is obsessed with Batman because Batman helped craft him. Batman is obsessed with Joker for the exact same reason.
Batman thinks "I can fix him". He sees Joker as a fundamentally flawed, extremely dangerous, but most importantly unwell person. He needs to believe that theres hope for people like Joker.
Joker thinks "I can make him worse." His whole life revolves around their games together. He needs to fuck with Batman more than anything else in the whole world. He needs to pull Batman down to his level. If only he could finally get Batman to kill someone, to kill HIM. Then he can finally prove that Batman is just as unjust and chaotic and BROKEN as the rest of the world. No one is above the effects of society (BEATBOXING NOISES)
Joker is not cis at all also. That guy is not a man at all he is a woman. He is a gay man in the she/her way. He is high femme and high maintenance and is NOT A CHEAP GIRLIE. I do think that he does absolutely abuse and mistreat Harley in almost every iteration, I find it so difficult to imagine their story ever turning out a different way simply based on.... Well their relationship is always an awful power dynamic that shouldnt ever have happened.
In a perfect world like Lego Batman I can see them being best friends. Gal pals. Maybe Harley is the first woman who ever makes Joker feel like a woman, and thats special. Sure, Joker is married to his work, but he loves her. He loves her deeply in the way that queer people have been loving each other for hundreds and thousands of years; without label or limits. He cant imagine being without her in his bedroom at 3am on hot Gotham summer nights. The hyenas are just an annoying add on to his already stupidly annoying life. Just like Harley's gf Ivy is.
I was kind of hoping that the new Joker Folie movie would do something cool about Joker and Harley's relationship. But as a DC fan you kind of just learn to deal with disappointment. I havent seen it yet, and dunno if I will. I think if anyone had a shot at being an actually interesting and net positive relationship between them would have been that specific iteration of Joker meeting Harley not as a doctor, but as a pop star. A beautiful, very high in society. A woman who when she speaks, people listen
I also think that Joker should never care too, too much about finding out Bruce's true identity. I think the anonymity of their tussles is an incredibly vital part for Joker. I think it probably perplexes Batman, maybe even disturbs him a little the lengths that Joker will purposefully go to in order to keep the secret. He doesnt want to know AT ALL and yet is utterly obsessed with him either way. The same way that he doesnt ACTUALLY want to kill Batman. Because if he kills Batman, he'll be killing his whole drive for life. He'd be killing himself
Also Bruce is bisexual and also falls in love with so many people in the queer way, thats why hes always checking up on Gotham Asylum patients. His massive evil gotham polycule that he refuses to call that

Hector lands on the final platform with a grunt and looks towards Balthazar and the woman caged in front of him.
The woman is pale as a ghost, even to her hair and her eyes. Her face is heavily scarred and her clothes ragged and torn. She glances at Hector with disinterest, but her gaze, and her ire, is primarily reserved for Balthazar, who is standing before her with a look of casual cruelty.
"Balthazar," the woman snaps. "Come to add more bars to my cage. Or perhaps to lead this would-be Justiciar's blade directly to my heart?"
She gestures, indicating Hector, and he flinches away from the assertion. Shadowheart is the one here to become a Justiciar; to be considered the petitioner himself is anathema. (And indeed, out of the corner of his eye, he can see Shadowheart surging forward to claim her rightful reward - but he puts an arm out across her chest, blocking her. They cannot speak yet; there is more to be heard.)
The woman's eyes flash back to Balthazar, and she lunges in his direction against the edge of the sigil holding her - and pale green spectral hands grasp at her, pulling her back, holding her still.
"I invite you," she snarls. "Heap more sins upon your head. My retribution will be all the sweeter for them."
Balthazar smiles coolly, unfazed by her impotent rage. "All this time," he murmurs, "and you still fail to appreciate the gifts I bestowed on you, Aylin. Sad, to see a thing of beauty not recognize its own worth." He circles the edge of the sigil, eyeing her like a particularly fascinating caged beast. "But General Thorm... *he* appreciates you. And he wants you close at hand, so I am here to whisk you back to him."
The Nightsong - Aylin? - struggles against her bonds, and the snarl on her face turns sardonic. "Ketheric. I welcome the sight of him, after these hundred years - he whose immortality I supply with my very soul."
Hector goes very still. His eyes flick sideways to Shadowheart and he sees that she has registered the meaning of these words as well. There is so much more at work here than the Justiciar trial, something that ties to the heart of everything they are struggling against.
This woman cannot be allowed to return to Thorm - at any cost.
Balthazar's smile loses some of its cool humor. "*General* Thorm," he repeats icily. "I'm sure you'll be on your best behavior for him, but just in case, I've taken some precautions."
He turns casually to Hector, seemingly unaware of the monk's distaste for the entire situation. "Keep back. It will take quite some concentration to secure Aylin for her little journey."
Hector draws a slow breath, trying to calm the racing of his mind enough to think, to decide on a plan. "Wait," he says, stalling for time. "The Nightsong is a person?"
Balthazar laughs.
"Person? Please. You insult her. You insult *me*. Aylin is so much more than that. She is an aasimar, bound to a soulcage of my creation and lending her immortal strength to General Thorm. Her power, his will, and my genius - an unsurpassable feat."
Hector feels a chill go through him. An aasimar - one touched by celestial blood, beyond human - trapped in this place for the century that Thorm has been immortal, mocked by this blasphemous cruelty for decades...
"Ramblings most unsane," Aylin sneers, uncowed even after such torment. "Poor Balthazar, for maggots ate his brain long ago."
"Hold your tongue, Aylin," Balthazar snaps coldly. "Or I'll take it away from you again." He turns to look at Hector, and the veneer of calm authority begins to slip in favor of irritation. "And you - no more questions. No more interference."
Hector flicks his eyes to his companions; all of them have shoulders set, eyes narrowed. He knows they all see the truth of the situation as clearly as he does. This can't be allowed to happen. And there is no way Balthazar will be dissuaded from his plans with anything other than violence.
Subtly he shifts his weight onto the balls of his feet, into the steady central stance ready to leap in any direction. Hidden by his crossed arms, his hands clench into fists.
"If she's the reason Ketheric Thorm is invulnerable," he says, voice steady and hard as steel, "you're not taking her. Leave, or you're a dead man."
Balthazar turns slowly towards him, and any pretense of pleasantry vanishes from him. His eyes are black coal flared with embers.
"Dead man," he murmurs. "You haven't been paying attention, have you? Perhaps I'll revive your carcass and add you to my retinue. Then you'll have all the time in the world to think on your mistakes!"
With astonishing speed for his bulk, he darts backwards, flaring with necromantic magic, and all around them, the strewn forms of the dead begin to rise.
Oh boy.

Yandere telltale riddler headcanons? I feel like he would be absolutely terrifying
THIS OLD MAN IS GONNA MAKE MAN SOOOOOO UNSANE
Kk
Yandere Telltale Riddler x reader
Tw: kidnapping, surveillance, branding, punishment reward system, nonsexual, withholding
•First and foremost this man knows there is a need for comfort and he is willing to give it to you, if you obey. Obeying can be something simple to complex, and he’s someone to slowly deprive and even more slowly reward. Lest you obey from the beginning.
•He’s a very quiet sort of danger, and he’d let his general distaste for any attitude slip on by until he’s able to make his point.
•In regard to punishment one of his favorites is branding. In his mind branding is the clearest way of making sure you know who exactly you’re dealing with. It doesn’t happen often but for mistakes you must learn and learning clearly doesn’t come easy.
•As bossy as he is towards anyone else he’s open enough to you. He asks for advice and options, and sits down, and shuts up like a proper gentleman at least with you. He tries to make what he does somewhat natural.
•As hes ran the criminal underground for quite some time he’s got leverage everywhere in Gotham. He has eyes to keep on you even when you don’t suspect. If you managed to escape you’d be back faster than you could snap a belt across someone’s face.
•He would prefer if you treated the relationship as a spouse would in any case. Like an old married couple, just reminded of the rules of marriage.
•Being the king of puzzles is no joke, as his more playful moods bring out this side of him. This means that he’ll hide things or hold them out of comfortable reach to until you answer him. This ranges from a cookie to clothing, and can be outrageously tricky to answer. The longest time this had lasted was when he hid your cat in his study for two days until you cried because you thought he got lost. That’s what had your husband caving and bringing the precious little thing out unscathed (and over fed because Eddie might like that cat a smidge more than you’d expect.)

Fury was building in her. Building and building, festering, the more this went on, the more she kept thinking about him fucking Abigail. She was all ready to grit her teeth and fight and then... then Rick caught her off guard, he closed her in, he hissed in her face and he was tall.. he was tall like he'd been. He made her feel small like then, just like he had and in a breath she was a teenager, a confused teenager that hadn't known the things she wanted, who hadn't known what love was and confused it, so is that was this was? Breath, Eris. She wasn't, he'd jolted her and what felt like eternity for him, was probably just a few seconds for him. Her eyes had momentarily widened, and for a few seconds Eris looked like.. she was just a girl. She was just someone trying to survive, she was a cornered animal and what did they do? They'd bite, they'd thrash, they'd lash out but they would remain in the far corner of their cage, away from the hands that'd try and reach. Breath.
You bark, you bite and scratch and... and she didn't know how stop. She wanted to tell him that, how was she meant to? It kept her safe, it stopped her feeling like that, small and weak.. that'd who she had been once, someone easy to manipulate, someone who faced being pinned in and slamming fists, when his hand slammed near her again she jumped. Actually, jumped and her breath started to rush and for a moment she did remember what panic felt like, what the attacks that used to control her every single time and steal her air, make her heart race, how it all felt... and something in Eris, snapped. She was never going to be that woman again, that lost girl thinking clenched fists and bruises meant passion, no.. she wouldn't be that girl again, she couldn't be that girl again. She didn't believe Rick would hurt her, but the way he'd slammed and growled it reminded her... of a time she long wanted to forget. The reason she would bite and scratch, the reason she was a defensive and caged animal. Her cage was safe, the door was closed... she just had to keep prying hands away, and she'd be safe.
"I do fucking hate her!" her voice was suddenly livid. It was rage, reddening her face and her hands raised and pointing. "I hate her because how could you have her hanging on your fucking arm like some coy eyed little bitch! Think you're fucking her? She might as well have had your cock in her fucking mouth Rick!" Eris turned, just enough to grip the mug.. and threw it. She threw it and let it shatter against the wall behind him. "You know what else? Oh Eris you bark and you bite, yeah, yeah I fucking do! You know why?! You know why Rick? I like my cage, I like being in the corner of it, I like the door shut and you know why that is?!" she was breathing so heavily, she looked... chaotic, she was chaos, burning and bright but this was.. honest. "Nobody can get to me, nobody can make me feel unsane and prod and punch-- nobody can slam desks and pin me in ever again!" she realised her mistake, right as she shouted it at him, her finger prodding into him once. Then her lip wavered, the angry tears became more obvious when her brows pulled and knitted.
Eris realised what she had done, looked at the shattered mug and the discarded piece and immediately, immediately backed away. She was horrified at what she had done, clear enough on her face, her hand moved to rub over her mouth, a slight tremble in them and pieces of her perfectly pulled back hair had fallen down with her outburst. "No- no don't, don't." she fretted, back stepping until she pushed against the desk again. "No I didn't... I didn't mean to do that. That's not umm.. that's not.." she swallowed thickly. This wasn't her, throwing, screaming that wasn't... her now. It was a glimpse at who she'd had to become once. Eris moved, quickly squatting down to start to gather up the shards. "This isn't who I am, I didn't mean to throw this.." she whispered the words, hushed them. It was her favourite coffee mug. Ruined, like everything else she touched.
Fuck this. He couldn’t believe her. Couldn’t believe how she was still trying to get everything away from her that only meant good. Was she really hating herself so much that she needed to send herself through torture over and over again? What was the goal here? And what did he do to deserve that when he tried nothing else but helping her? At first he just closed his eyes in annoyance about her not understanding what he was trying to do here and a sigh left his mouth. But when she tried to leash out again, it filled his own rage quite as much as the one she presented.
In an instant he got up from the table, his hand in the process pushing down the remaining papers from the surface as he growled out in frustration. “Eris, for fucks sake.” With a fast forward step he reached for her mug in her hand and placed it back on the desk to corner her back against it right after, his body weight pressed against hers while he hissed at her face. “I said you’re barking like a dog I never meant you are one. You bark and bite and scratch at everything that just tries to get close to you. And I beg you to finally stop hearing what your hateful mind wants you to think and listen to the actual fucking words I’m saying… I’m screaming at you.”
It made him angry how she tried to wiggle herself free from responsibility over the pain she caused on herself more than once. Why didn’t she understand that someone was trying to care for her when she finally would allow it? “I’m not protecting her. I couldn’t even care less about her but who I actually care about is little miss sunshine here.” Another frustrated growl left him when he smashed his flat hands against the edges of the desk before he stepped away and ran his hands through his hair, walking in circles while trying to collect his running thoughts. “From all the people in here you know best what it means to be reckless. What the consequences for mistakes are. And you are not in a clear headspace acting like that. Don’t you think that others will notice? I’m scared about you. I’m scared about what they could fucking do to you.”
He turnt with panic on his face as he looked at her, deep wrinkles on his forehead cause his heart was racing so fast that it nearly cut off his breath. “Please… talk to me. Leash out to me, I don’t care. But to a fucking girl that is the sweetheart to these lost souls? Tell me how you fucking hate her and belittle her in front of me and I will gladly listen, but this is not clever and Eris you’re one of the smartest persons I ever met acting like a fool.” Maybe this wasn’t just about self destruction or manipulation. Maybe there was really more behind her hate against Abigail he couldn’t really see yet. But it wasn’t what he hoped it would be, was it? Why should Eris Amorello even fucking jealous about a stupid naive girl?
“You think I’m fucking her, don’t you?”

(Quick sketch of my baby-vampire)
Valestair
Valestair is a young vampire - its been a few years that he has been bitten, died and returned as a night creature. As a teenage mer raised in poverty, he has a strong sens of what is crucial and what's not - he has a lot of brothers and sisters, which is very rare coming from Altmers. He knew harsh days overcame through unconditional support and sacrifices for the group, respects his parents more than anyone on Nirn and planned to be part of the House of Reveries as an artist when older. Kidnapped, bitten then killed when he was out to work on his skills, his sudden disappearence worried his family but not the authorities. His siblings seeked after him and found out the cave he hid in, then chose to protect him as his first state of transition was so unstable he couldn't think, talk nor walk by himself. Terrorized but deeply concerned for his well-being, Qualixte, his older sister, chose to feed him with the blood coming from her palms while Qlipho'th, oldest of brothers, found the strength to adress their parents about that. The choice has been made to keep an eye on him through his new state, as he remains their loved Valestair. They chose however to organize funerals to "fake" his "death" and gave him an official opportunity to escape and live in peace. During so, Qualixte kept feeding him and caring for him until the Coalescence began and splitted them apart. Their family still remains, Vale still sends letters to his older brother and everybody keeps him in their heart even if they cannot share a meal anymore.
Young mer on a lot of aspects, Valestair is so attached to the values of his family that he first tried to refute his new nature and stood as much as possible loyal to his education, including ancestors and religion. He expected not to be cured by his faith but wanted firmly to honor his parents, proud of himself as a child of a loving family, proud of what his kin taught him to be and proud to remain as human as possible. Doing so, he's quite a headstrong mer with intricated and intense feelings but has a "little brother" global demeanor that is as refreshing that it gets on many nerves.
His vampire nature brings him a lot of pain and he hates having to feed or to be part of rituals that he finds unsane. Valestair often throws up right after drinking because of his disgust for the texture of blood itself or because of self-hatred toward the very act of feeding. Kind of a sweet-hearted mer, sensitive and pure-willing, killing is something that devastates him. He however shows promising hunting instincts that grows sharper and sharper as Thirst increases.
He can smell mortals around at an indecent distance, hear steps, breaths and heartbeats, stalk a prey without tiring during hours... And has a potential that other vampires try to emphasize, expecting him to embrace his nature and finally consider himself as a part of their kind. Doing so, they would help Valestair to accept his new self and to experiment less pain coming from the transition between life and undeath.
As he sometimes refuses to feed, Vale is very often suffering of hunger, dementia and fears mortals that embers the Thirst just by their presence. He, then, becomes extremely anxious when exposed to newcomers and acts heavily panicked when his instincts trigger. When too starving, he progressively loses his mortal habits (like breathing, sleeping, drinking water) and becomes more and more like a walking corpse. He often enters in this state when hunting - since hunt is always his last resort. To cover his smell, that is his most-developped sens, he appears wearing a mask that he fills with cloves as to overwhelm his own nose.

Oozing Wound — We Cater to Cowards (Thrill Jockey)

We Cater To Cowards by Oozing Wound
We Cater to Cowards is the fifth LP from Oozing Wound, appearing 11 years (say what?) down the road from the festival of thrashy hilarity that was Vape and Pillage, the band’s initial release. Back then, tunes like “Autopsy Turvy” formulated the ambivalent mix of headlong energy and smartassery that has consistently and sometimes irritatingly informed their music. The band can craft absolutely riveting experiences (“Hippie Speedball,” for instance, is flat-out terrific) but they have been just as ready to churn out cheap pastiche clad in flashy soloing and mean-spirited snark. As on their previous record, High Anxiety (2019), there’s still plenty of nod-and-wink irony in the semiotics of We Cater to Cowards; check out some of the song titles: “The Good Times (I Don’t Miss ’Em),” “Between Cults,” “Midlife Crisis Actor” (which is pretty funny). But also, like High Anxiety, the clowning is shot through with moments of more gravid character. There’s less petty derision and more emotionally hefty drama. Sonically speaking, this is a different Oozing Wound. We Cater to Cowards is a noise rock record.
That’s not exactly revelatory — the band has always been noisy. But their signature blend of top-speed thrashy chops and a punk-ish ethos has issued in a fairly familiar problem. For the genre-bound true believers, Oozing Wound’s records have been too metal for the punks and too punk for the heads. It would speculate overmuch to assert that the noise-rocking strut of We Cater to Cowards gestures toward a heavy-music third way, a new musical tactic seeking to solve Oozing Wound’s scenester dilemma. Likely the midtempo pace and thumping riffs around which most of the record coheres just felt right to longtime collaborators Zack Weil, Kevin Cribbin and Kyle Reynolds, as they wrote and played the songs.
Whatever the motivations, it’s certainly the case that “The Good Times (I Don’t Miss Em)” sounds remarkably like Steel Pole Bath Tub, c. 1990. The more impressive trick Oozing Wound pulls off is that the song simultaneously sounds like an organic outgrowth of tunes like “Tween Shitbag” and “Filth Chisel” from High Anxiety. A little slower, a little dirtier, but possessed of the same mean streak and informed by a similar interest in excoriating the band’s own contributions to our current conjuncture. On “Total Existence Failure,” Weil snarls, “I’m the king of cultural waste / On a franchised throne across the space / That binds the world…” There’s more Scratch Acid in that sentiment than there is Anthrax, or even MOD. More notable here is the fact that We Cater to Cowards is a satisfying and sometimes thrilling record. Particularly in its final third, it finds a snarling, crunching groove that slots alongside the general feeling of our current socio-political conjuncture. “Midlife Crisis Actor” and “Old Sludge” are by turns sizzling and pummeling acts of musical mortification.
An ironic distance from the ugliness represented in the songs was an intrinsic element of the early 1990s’ peak noise-rock moment, populated by bands that had learned their craft from Big Black and the Butthole Surfers. Unsane and Cows were great bands that put out some great records, but they lived and died by the grossout. On songs like “Bank Account Anxiety,” the first and best track on We Cater to Cowards, Oozing Wound seems to be evolving beyond the sniggering takedown. That’s a good thing. The songs still hit hard, and the ideas are hitting harder.
